Women in the Wild

Location

Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Kenya

"Working in conservation has not only deepened my love for wildlife but inspired my children, who are the next generation of conservationists. The accomplishments of women like me prove that with dedication and passion, gender is not a barrier. They show that anyone, regardless of gender, can make a positive impact in our planet." Caroline Wanjiru Nyokabi."

The “Women in the Wild” project highlights the vital roles women play in wildlife conservation. Inspired by my own mother, Caroline Wanjiru Nyokabi, who was the first female ranger and radio operator at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Kenya. This project goes beyond showcasing the role of women in wildlife conservation but also capturing their lives as dedicated mothers and professions. This narrative seeks to empower young girls to envision a future where they too can succeed in any chosen path, breaking barriers and inspiring a new generation of women in conservation.
