ABOUT ME

Maureen Gathoni (she/her) is a conservation photographer from Kenya. Her work entails documenting conservation issues and efforts with the aim to raise awareness about the threats facing our natural world and urgent need to protect it. Maureen’s aspiration comes from her mother who was the first female ranger in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Kenya and is inspired to document heroes like her mother who are driving change in conservation.

Maureen has volunteered at Ol Pejeta Conservancy as a photographer and field assistant where she honed her photography skills and have been privileged to work closely with wildlife veterinarians. During her time at the conservancy, she participated in the Northern White Rhino Recovery Program, capturing moments and efforts in conservation. Her passion for wildlife conservation, led her to being featured in the Global Gala for Rhinos 2021, alongside her mother in support of raising funds for conservation.
